Man, 57, to go on trial for murder next year
A man will go on trial next year charged with the murder of a woman in South Yorkshire.
Laurence Ward, 57, was arrested and charged after the 53-year-old woman was found fatally injured at an address on Herringthorpe Valley Road in Rotherham on 21 June.
Mr Ward, also of Herringthorpe Valley Road, appeared at Sheffield Crown Court on Wednesday.
A trial was provisionally scheduled for February next year and is expected to last two weeks.
Mr Ward was remanded in custody until then.
