Drug driving arrest after boy badly hurt in crash

A man has been arrested on suspicion of drug driving after a 10-year-old boy was hit by a car and seriously injured.

The boy was in collision with a grey Mercedes on Undercliffe Old Road in Bradford just before 20:20 GMT on Wednesday.

West Yorkshire Police said he was taken to hospital with serious but not believed to be life-threatening injuries.

The driver, a 21-year-old man, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving while unfit through drugs.

Police said he had been released on bail pending further inquiries.
