Pickup truck swallowed by sea after failed rescue
A pickup truck has been swallowed by the sea after getting stuck on a beach.
Emergency crews were called to Anglesey's Bychan Beach at about 10:00 BST on Saturday.
Moelfre Lifeboat, which was sent ended alongside Moelfre Coastguard, confirmed the truck's owner - unlike the vehicle itself - was safe and unharmed.
In an attempted rescue of the vehicle, a tractor tried to pull it to safety, but the tow rope snapped.
Lifeboat coxswain Vince Jones said: "Fortunately when the crew arrived on scene, the owner was accounted for safe and well ashore."
He said his crew remained at the scene to ensure everyone's safety after the failed recovery attempt.
"We鈥檙e sorry for their unfortunate loss of the vehicle and hope they manage to safely recover it and their belongings," added Mr Jones.
Richard Anthony, of the Coastguard, said two tractors were successfully used in tandem to remove the vehicle from the beach after the tide went out.
