Police launch murder probe into death of woman in Glasgow

Police have launched a murder investigation into the death of a woman in Glasgow.
Emergency services were called to a disturbance in the St Mungo Avenue area of the city at about 12:55 on Tuesday.
Sandie Butler, 40, from Glasgow, was found seriously injured and pronounced dead a short time later.
Detectives are treating the death as murder following a post-mortem examination.
Det Ch Insp Lynsey Watters, of the major investigation team, said: “Our inquiries are ongoing and an extensive investigation is underway to establish the full circumstances surrounding this death.
“There remains an increased police presence in the area as the investigation continues.
“We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed anything around the time of this incident to please contact police."
Detectives have set up a website, external to send information directly to them, which can be submitted anonymously.
