An arrest has been made after a man was chased with a knife in Loughborough.

Leicestershire Police were called to the Knightthorpe Road area on Wednesday evening after reports of a man with a knife chasing another male in the street, before leaving in a van.

Officers located the vehicle with the suspect inside, as well as a knife.

He was arrested for a number of offences, say the force’s Charnwood beat team.

The 35-year-old was arrested on suspicion of affray, driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs, racially aggravated public order, criminal damage and possession of cannabis.

He has since been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Anyone who witnessed the incident has been asked to contact the Charnwood beat team.
