Man accused of stabbing as police took statements

A man has been charged with the attempted murder of a woman who was stabbed as police took witness statements nearby.
Greater Manchester Police officers were at an address in Grosvenor Road, Hyde on Friday evening investigation concerns for someone's welfare.
As officers took statements, a woman was stabbed inside the property, a force spokesman said.
He added: "Following previous police contact, in line with normal procedure, the matter has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct."
GMP said a 27-year-old man has been remanded in custody to appear at Manchester Crown Court on Monday,
The force said the woman is in a stable condition after treatment and her injuries are not life threatening
