Man seriously injured in three-car crash

A man in his 20s suffered serious injuries in a rush-hour crash involving three cars.

It happened on the A591 near Sizergh, Kendal, just after 08:00 GMT on Thursday.

The man, who was driving a Mazda, was taken to hospital in Preston for treatment, Cumbria Police said.

Road closures were put in place on a number of roads to allow an investigation to be completed. Witnesses have been asked to come forward.

A male Audi driver aged in his 60s, along with his female passenger aged in her 50s, were also hurt in the crash.

A woman in her 30s, who was driving a BMW, was uninjured, the force added.

Any witnesses or drivers with dashcam footage were asked to contact police.
