Woman hit by mobility scooter seriously hurt
An elderly woman has been seriously injured after a mobility scooter, ridden by a man in his 30s, knocked her into a road outside a supermarket.
The collision happened near Aldi on St Osyth Road in Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, on Wednesday afternoon.
Police said the man attempted to pass the female pedestrian on the pavement, but in doing so collided with her and caused her to fall into the road.
Officers are trying to trace the man, described as black and who was wearing an all-white tracksuit, as part of their inquiries.
They said he stopped after the crash, but left before police arrived.
Anyone with information, CCTV, dashcam or other footage has been asked to get in touch.
