Man suffers head injury outside nightclub

A man is in hospital with a serious head injury after being punched outside a nightclub.

Cleveland Police said the 38-year-old was knocked unconscious when he was assaulted near the The Deck in Bath Street, Redcar, at about 04:00 BST on Sunday.

The suspect was a man wearing a black T-shirt and black trousers, the force added.

It happened shortly after another man was punched and kicked to the ground outside the same club.

Officers say they have been unable to trace him and are appealing for information.
