Pedestrian seriously injured in hit-and-run crash

A woman has been left seriously injured after a hit-and-run collision in North Yorkshire.
The pedestrian, in her 50s, suffered a broken leg and a broken shoulder after she was hit by a vehicle in Colburn, near Catterick, on Tuesday.
The incident happened at about 18:00 GMT on Horseshoe Close, North Yorkshire Police said.
The vehicle did not stop at the scene and the woman was found by passers-by who contacted emergency services.
Officers appealed for any witnesses to come forward.
