Netting station milestone for salmon conservation
A Highland fisheries trust has said it has reached a significant milestone in the conservation of salmon in the inner Moray Firth after purchasing a netting station in Inverness.
Ness and Beauly Fisheries Trust has acquired the netting rights at Seapark station, near Inverness Caledonian Thistle's stadium.
The facility has not been in operation since 2022, but the trust said it would form an important part of its strategy to help salmon numbers recover in local rivers.
The exact sum of the purchase has not been disclosed, but funding has come from proprietors of the trust, Inverness Common Good Fund, Inverness Angling Club and donations.
