A "sexual predator" has been jailed for 21 years after being found guilty of assaulting a child on multiple occasions.

Damian Kinston, 27, was convicted by a jury, following a trial at Swindon Crown Court.

Investigating officers said Kinston had shown "no remorse" for his actions and praised the victim's "bravery and courage" throughout the case.

Det Sgt Kiah Vaughan, of Wiltshire Police, said: "Kinston is a sexual predator who repeatedly subjected his victim, who was only seven when the abuse began, to horrendous sexual assaults with the only purpose to fulfil his own sexual gratification."

Kinston was found guilty of assaulting a child under 13, multiple counts of rape of a child under 13, multiple counts of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child and multiple assaults of a child under 13 by penetration.

As well as the prison sentence, Kinston was given a sexual harm and prevention order, an indefinite restraining order and has been placed on the sex offenders register.

"I really hope today’s sentencing will help her begin to move forward in her life, knowing that she has not only got justice for herself, but she has been instrumental in preventing others from coming to harm," Det Sgt Vaughan added.
