Man dies after quad bike accident in Lisnaskea

A man in his 50s has died following a quad bike accident in Lisnaskea.

Vincent Smith, known as Vinny, was riding a Honda quad on the Moat Road when the single vehicle collision occurred.

The incident was reported to police on Saturday morning shortly before 07.40 BST.

Mr Smith died at the scene.

Police are investigating the incident and have appealed for anyone with dash-cam or other footage to contact them.

The Moat Road has since-reopened.

'An invaluable volunteer'

In a post , Lisnaskea Emmetts GAC paid tribute to Mr Smith, who was a member.

"The entire club is in shock today at the news of the sudden death of club man Vinny Smith," the post said.

"Vinny played all codes and at all grades for the club and has been an invaluable volunteer as a coach and helper in maintaining our grounds.

"Only a few weeks ago he gave up his time to help improve our pitch."
