A new gym for teenagers has opened in Wolverhampton.
The youth gym has been created at WV Active-Aldersley as part of Wolverhampton City Council鈥檚 拢1m refurbishment of its three facilities.
It caters for young people aged 14 to 18, with a free session available every Saturday from 09:00 and 11:00 through the Yo! Active programme.
The gym has replaced the building鈥檚 old sports bar with refreshments available at the centre鈥檚 cafe.
Wolverhampton city councillor Jasbir Jaspal said the authority was delighted with the opening of the new gym, adding that it would give teenagers a chance to use the best equipment available.
It includes three treadmills, three cross trainers, a StairMaster, three bikes and a rowing machine as well as a number of resistance training machines.
The programme is a joint project between the city council and the Wolves Foundation.
It provides 40 hours of free activities every week at the authority鈥檚 WV Active leisure centres and community centres.
