Polling stations across the UK have opened for the 2024 general election.

Eligible people will be able to cast their votes from 07:00 until 22:00 BST.

There are 18 seats being contested in Kent, with the first results expected in the early hours of Friday.

Anyone intending to vote in person will need to take an approved form of photo ID to the polling station.

A redrawing of boundaries means there are some new constituency names for 2024.

In Kent these are Weald of Kent, East Thanet, plus Herne Bay and Sandwich.

The 大象传媒, like other broadcasters, is not allowed to report details of campaigning while the polls are open.
