Two men have been jailed at the High Court in Glasgow in connection with firearm and drug offences.

James Murray, 58, was sentenced to four years and Connor Murray, 29, to six years.

They were arrested in March after officers searched a property and vehicle on Greenock Road, Bishopton.

Police discovered cocaine with an estimated street value of about £149,000, as well as a six-figure sum of cash and a firearm.

Det Insp Gordon Smith of Police Scotland said: "This was a significant seizure that has undoubtedly disrupted the supply of illegal drugs in our community and taken a dangerous weapon off our streets.

“It also underlines our continued commitment to the serious organised crime taskforce and the country's serious organised crime strategy.

“We hope that this sends a clear message that that we will continue to relentlessly pursue and bring to justice those involved in such criminal activities."
