Man denies causing woman's death in head-on crash

A man has denied causing the death of a woman in a head-on collision.
Linda Mary Stockdale was killed when her Kia Ceed was struck by an Audi A7 on the A6055 between Leeming Bar and Catterick on 1 August 2021.
Oliver Hartley, of Bentley Lane in Meanwood, Leeds, appeared before York magistrates on Thursday and denied causing death by dangerous driving.
Mr Hartley, 23, also denied causing death while driving a vehicle while unlicensed or uninsured. He will next appear at York Crown Court on 5 August.
The crash happened near Marne Barracks, Catterick Garrison.
Ms Stockdale lived in the nearby village of Tunstall and was described as a "passionate Daleswoman" who opened up her garden to visitors.
She worked with young children and was involved in several local causes.
