Man to go on trial over death of motorcyclist

A man is due to go on trial next month after being charged with causing the death of a motorcyclist in a crash in North Yorkshire.
Gregory Newcombe, 26, died when the Harley Davidson he was riding was involved in a collision with a Ford Fiesta on the A684 near Bedale on 10 July 2022.
Cameron Ward, 30, is charged with causing death by careless driving, causing death while driving a vehicle while unlicensed or insured, and perverting the course of justice.
Mr Ward, of Oak Drive, Sowerby, did not enter a plea when he appeared at York Magistrates' Court on Thursday and will face trial at York Crown Court, starting on 27 August.
