Man who carried knife at train station jailed
A man who carried a knife at Kent's busiest railway station has been jailed for six months.
Rackeem Thomas, 18, of no fixed address, was stopped for not having a ticket by inspectors at Dartford station.
Police officers' suspicions were then raised by Thomas' behaviour, and he then provided a fake name to officers.
He was jailed on Tuesday after pleading guilty to possession of a pointed or bladed article.
Thomas tried to flee the scene after officers prepared to search him.
But he was taken to the floor by police and rail workers.
Thomas then attempted to take out the concealed knife from his waist band.
PC Alex Morgan said: "I am extremely pleased to see him sentenced to six months imprisonment less than 24 hours after officers found him committing the offence."
Thomas also was ordered to pay 拢85 for a forfeiture and destruction order, as well as a 拢154 victim surcharge.
