Trial set for pair accused over illegal abortion
A woman who allegedly arranged an illegal abortion for herself is due to face trial next year.
Sophie Harvey, 25, of St Mary's Road, Cirencester, has been accused of procuring poison, procuring her own miscarriage by poison, and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
Elliot Benham, 25, of Wingfield, Swindon, is also accused of attempting to pervert the course of justice.
The charges relate to summer 2018, when both defendants were aged 19. Both defendants have been released on bail and were excused from attending the short hearing earlier at Gloucester Crown Court.
A five-day trial is scheduled to begin in the same court on 24 February 2025.
