A man has appeared in court charged in connection with disorder in a Leeds suburb which saw a police car flipped and a bus set alight.
Celan Valentin Palaghia, 21, of Stanley Avenue, Harehills, appeared before Leeds Magistrates' Court on Wednesday charged with violent disorder and arson.
He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Leeds Crown Court on 28 August.
The disorder on 18 July was sparked after four children were removed from their family and taken into emergency care over concerns they would be taken out of the UK. The children were later returned to extended family members.
On 23 July, West Yorkshire Police said 40 suspects had been identified as part of the Harehills investigation.
Mr Palaghia was the 18th person to be arrested and fourth person to be charged in connection with the disorder, the force confirmed.
