A man has died and another man has been left seriously hurt in a collision that saw a car end up on its roof.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said medics were called to a car that had hit fencing on Stone Street in Oldbury at about 20:00 BST on Sunday.

The victim, believed to be a passenger in the car, was found in a critical condition.

Ambulance crews immediately began administering advanced life support but he could not be saved and was confirmed dead at the scene.

A second patient, a man who is believed to be the driver, suffered potentially life-changing injuries, medics added.

He was treated at the scene before being taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

West Midlands Police issued an appeal and said it was supporting both men's families.

"We're keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and has not already spoken to officers," the force said.

"We are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who was travelling through and has dashcam footage."

West Midlands Ambulance Service had earlier said a woman died in the crash, but later confirmed the victim was a man.
