Lifeboat crews praised for double rescue effort
Two lifeboat rescues in the same afternoon demonstrated the "flexibility and skills" of volunteer crews, the RNLI said.
Fleetwood's RNLI inshore lifeboat launched at about 13:10 BST on Saturday to assist in the rescue of someone who had fallen from the quay on to mud.
The crew were then paged again at 14:25 and helped tow a boat that had run out of fuel in the Fleetwood Channel.
Lifeboat operations manager Tony Cowell said: "A busy afternoon for us showed off the flexibility and range of skills that make RNLI volunteer crews so special, but what matters most is that everyone came home safely."
