Donegal man killed in workplace incident in Australia

A man from County Donegal who died in a work place incident in Australia has been named locally as Barry Breslin.

Mr Breslin, aged 35, who was originally from Kilcar, died while working in Perth's northern suburbs.

According to , he sustained serious head injuries after he was hit by the arm of an excavator. He was then taken by ambulance to the Royal Perth Hospital but passed away a short time later.

Mr Breslin was a father of one and is understood to have been living in Australia for a number of years.

The Department for Foreign Affairs said it was ready to provide assistance to Mr Breslin's family but did not comment on individual cases.

'Community is in shock'

A tribute from his local GAA club in Kilcar said the whole community is in shock following Mr Breslin鈥檚 passing and said he would be fondly remembered.
