A man has been arrested after a crash on Penhill Drive in Swindon

A man has been arrested on suspicion of a number of offences after a road crash.

Police were called to Penhill Drive in Swindon on Wednesday at about 18:10 BST following a crash involving a car and a motorcycle.

The rider of the motorcycle, a man aged in his 20s, fled the scene and was found on Sunningdale Road.

He was taken to hospital for treatment and was then arrested on suspicion of driving while disqualified, driving without a licence and insurance, failing to stop, and dangerous driving.

The man was later also arrested on suspicion of failing to provide a specimen and breaching the public order act, after allegedly abusing an officer while in hospital.

He remains in police custody.
