Jersey Post increasing international tariffs in 2024
- Published
Jersey Post is increasing some of its postal rates from 2 January.
Bosses said the rate of European or international letters would increase, but 100g local and UK letter rates would remain unchanged.
The new prices are expected to cause an average increase of 8.6%.
The price changes were being made after a decline in outward mail and increased operating costs, bosses said.
The rises will see the cost of posting a 100g letter to Europe increase by 30p to £2.15, and the price of an 100g international letter increasing by 40p to £2.95.
This marks a tariff increase of 8.6%, and the current market inflation rate is 10.1%
Julie Thomas, managing director of the company's logistics, said that, while price changes were being made to target the declining market, it was important to minimise impact on customers.
There are no price changes to Jersey Post’s premium postage services.
Details of the 2024 price changes can be found on the Jersey Post website.
