Driver in hospital after crashing into a wall
A driver has been treated in hospital after his car crashed into a wall in South Lanarkshire.
The 52-year-old man was behind the wheel of a grey BMW X3 when it appeared to lose control on Ayr Road near Lanark on Wednesday morning.
Police said the serious accident happened at about 05:55, between Rigside and Hyndford Bridge.
The driver was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, and the road was closed for about four hours.
Sgt Chris McColm said: 鈥淲e are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the crash to .
鈥淲e are also asking anyone who saw this vehicle prior to the crash or anyone with dashcam footage or any other information which may assist to come forward.鈥
