New Lidl, M&S and Costa all approved for site

A new Lidl supermarket is to be built on the outskirts of a town after a new retail park was backed by council planners.
The proposal from Quora for land off Redhill Way and the A5 in Redhill, Telford, also includes a drive-through Costa coffee shop, an M&S retail unit and BP charging station.
Telford and Wrekin Council planners also backed an outline application for 66-bedroom care home with 20 parking spaces, surrounded by gardens.
Architects Harris Partnership (HP) said in its report to the council the site was in "easy walking distance" of nearby residential streets.
"The proposal will enable the investment that is required to develop the site, improving the visual appearance and providing substantial investment in the area and job opportunities,鈥 HP added.
The site has been cleared ready for development, while ongoing work includes providing new access to it and amendments to the A5 and road network.
The plans received no objections.
