A man is in a critical condition after he became trapped under a lift at a supermarket.
Firefighters rescued the man, in his 20s, after they were called to Aldi on Pheasant Street, Worcester, shortly after 17:30 BST on Tuesday.
He was found to have suffered life-threatening injuries and paramedics treated him at the scene before he was taken to hospital, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.
West Mercia Police said the store was closed on Tuesday evening and officers remained at the scene into the night.
Aldi confirmed the store had reopened but declined to comment further while the investigation was ongoing.
A spokesperson for Worcester City Council, which is investigating the incident, said it would be inappropriate to comment on a live case.
