Notorious criminals' tattoos studied at festival
A crime writing festival in Aberdeen is featuring an exhibition on the tattoos of some of the city's most notorious criminals.
Gunpowder, Tattoos and Transportation is part of Granite Noir, which runs until Sunday and features authors including David Suchet, Louise Welsh and Callum McSorley.
Dr Ashleigh Black from the Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire Archives helped put the exhibition together.
She said: "These remarkable records give vivid descriptions of each inmates' physiological characteristics including scars, distinguishing marks, and their tattoos."
The exhibition is being held at Aberdeen鈥檚 Music Hall.
