Police are appealing for information about the crash which killed Rob Foxton

Police have named a man who died after being hit by a Jeep while crossing the road in Rotherham as 80-year-old Rob Foxton.

Mr Foxton was struck by the vehicle on Barbers Avenue, Rawmarsh, at the junction of Netherfield Lane, at about 20:00 BST on 16 October.

He was taken to hospital, but died on 20 October.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said the driver of the Jeep remained at the scene following the crash and had been assisting officers with their investigation.

Mr Foxton's family were being supported by specialist officers, the spokesperson added.

They appealed to any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of the crash to contact them.
