Man denies poisoning birds of prey

A man has denied multiple charges relating to the poisoning of three birds of prey.

John Bryant, of West Ashby, Horncastle, appeared at Boston Magistrates' Court on Wednesday and pleaded not guilty to two counts of using a trap to kill or take a wild bird.

Mr Bryant, 40, also pleaded not guilty to six counts of possessing an article capable of being used to commit a summary offence and two counts of contravening health and safety regulations.

He was released on unconditional bail and a trial date was set for 6 March 2025.

Lincolnshire Police said it had received reports of a red kite and two buzzards being poisoned and killed between 2017 and 2022.
