Two women die and one man critical after crash

Two women have died and two men have been taken to hospital, one in a critical condition, after a crash.

It happened on the A4050 in Barry, Vale of Glamorgan, at about 13:40 GMT on Saturday, and the road closed from the junction of Port Road East and Barry Dock Link Road to Pugh鈥檚 Garden Centre.

It has since reopened.

South Wales Police said two women died at the scene and two men are currently receiving treatment in hospital.

Sgt Craig Wood said: 鈥淔irst and foremost, our thoughts are with the family of the two women who have died in this collision.

鈥淲e are in the early stages of our investigation and are still trying to establish the full circumstances."

He appealed for anyone driving in the area between 13:30 and 13:50 on Saturday who may have information to get in touch.

"We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who can give us extra detail on the manner of driving of a grey Audi RS 4 prior to the collision," he added.
