I know coward who slashed my tyres says councillor

A councillor has claimed he knows the "coward" who damaged his car and slashed the tyres, claiming it was because of his "dogged pursuit" of people breaking planning rules.
Denbighshire Conservative Terry Mendies said he found all four tyres damaged on his Land Rover Discovery and the bodywork scratched after leaving a community council meeting.
He said it left him even more determined to chase down those violating planning regulations, many of whom are in his local area.
North Wales Police said it had received a report of a car being damaged in Llandegla and appealed for information.

Mr Mendies said there was also damage to the vehicle's number plate, all of which happened between 19:00-20:00 BST on Thursday, 3 October, while he was in Llandegla community hall.
The councillor called the culprit a "bully" who was "too much of a coward to front up to me".
He said: 鈥淲hen elected two years ago I inherited many planning breaches in the ward, which I have been doggedly pursuing," he said.
鈥淭his cowardly attack has only made me more determined to bring all those that are circumventing planning laws 鈥 and there are many in my ward 鈥 to account.鈥
He estimated the repair cost at between 拢1,000-拢1,500 and said he had "absolutely not" considered resigning.
"I want to stress I鈥檓 more determined than ever to pursue all planning breaches in my ward.
鈥淭here are planning breaches throughout the ward, some serious ones, and I will pursue them.
"My tenure lasts for another two-and-a-half years. And , if I鈥檓 lucky enough to be re-elected, I鈥檒l pursue them for five years after that.鈥
Police said the car had been scratched and its tyres slashed, and they asked anyone with information to get in touch via their website or by calling 101.
