Men deny 2018 'gun for hire' murder of girl
Two men have denied murdering a 17-year-old girl in a drive-by shooting more than six years ago in north London.
Tanesha Melbourne-Blake was out with friends when she was shot from a Vauxhall people carrier on Chalgrove Road in Tottenham on 2 April 2018.
Marcus La-Croix, 36, from Hackney, and Michael Clarke, 34, from Luton, appeared at the Old Bailey via video-link from prison. A four-week trial has been scheduled to begin on 31 March.
In 2020, it was revealed the weapon used to kill Tanesha - described by the Metropolitan Police as a "gun for hire" - had been used in another fatal shooting in March 2018.
Joseph Williams-Torres, 20, was killed in a case of mistaken identity in Walthamstow, east London, with the same gun. The Met believes the weapon was in circulation for at least a year.
The force has said there is no suggestion the two shootings are linked in any other way.
Mr La-Croix and Mr Clarke, who were charged with murder in July, also denied a charge of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life - namely an automatic calibre self-loading pistol.
