Man arrested in connection to Plymouth stabbing
A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with a stabbing in Plymouth, police have confirmed.
Devon & Cornwall Police said it was called at about 14:30 BST on Tuesday to reports that a man had been assaulted with a bladed weapon at Taunton Avenue.
A man in his 30s suffered serious injuries - he was taken to hospital and is still recovering, the force said.
The 31-year-old suspect from Plymouth remains in police custody.
Two others were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender - they have since been released without further action.
Det Insp Kev Morley said investigations were continuing.
He said: "We understand the concern that this incident has had on local residents.
"The public can expect to see a heightened police presence in and around the Whitleigh area while further searches are carried out today."
The force asked anyone with information that could assist investigations to get in contact.
