- Published
Two car parks will close for a total of 10 weeks this summer for redevelopment works.
Swifts Bank car park in Carlisle will close first on Saturday for about two weeks, with work set to start on Monday 17 June.
Once this work is complete, the site will reopen and The Sands car park will close next for eight weeks.
The works include resurfacing both car parks and the junction of Newmarket Road and Newark Terrace.
There will also be changes to the lighting, drainage, and general infrastructure, with a new parking layout including wider bays.
