A man has been charged following a machete attack in Lancaster.

Alex McKenzie, 22, was assaulted on Whiteray Road in the Ryelands area at about 15:25 on 17 April, Lancashire Police said.

A 36-year-old man has been charged with wounding, affray and threatening a person with a blade.

He is due to appear before magistrates later.

Officers are trying to find Mr McKenzie to check on his welfare.

They also want to speak to him in connection with an assault in January, where a man in his 30s was attacked on Denny Avenue and left with serious injuries.

Lancashire Police have asked for anyone with any information to get in touch.
