Flats evacuated over 'unknown chemical' find

Police have evacuated five flats after an "unknown chemical" was found in a neighbouring home.

Cumbria Police officers attended a flat in Sandes Court in Kendal on Friday as part of an ongoing investigation.

While at the scene officers found the unknown chemical inside.

Members of the public have been advised to avoid the the area, although a police spokesman claimed: "There is no risk to the public at this stage."
