Commuters delayed as broken-down train blocks line
A broken-down train led to delays and cancellations for rush-hour commuters.
The train, which was stuck between Stafford and Nuneaton, led to engineering works overrunning and blocked all lines between the two stations, said National Rail Enquiries.
The incident also affected some services run by Avanti West Coast, West Midlands Railway and London Northwestern Railway.
The disruption hit commuters travelling to and from Birmingham and between Rugeley Trent Valley and Wolverhampton. It was cleared by about 08:30 BST, said National Rail.
"Disruption between Stafford and Nuneaton caused by engineering work overrunning earlier this morning has now ended," its website reported.
