Two men killed in three-car crash in Aberdeenshire

Two men have been killed in a three-vehicle crash near Maryculter in Aberdeenshire.

Emergency services were called to the incident on the B9077 South Deeside Road at about 15:00 on Saturday.

The crash involved a Volkswagen golf, a Skoda Kamiq and a Audi Q5. A 32-year-old man and a 23-year-old man were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Scottish Ambulance service said another person was taken to hospital and others were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Police officers, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and ambulance teams were dispatched to the crash site near the Maryculter House Hotel.

The Scottish Ambulance service said it sent multiple ambulances, a special operations response team and a trauma team.

The road was closed for around nine hours to allow Police Scotland to conduct investigations.

Sgt Peter Henderson from the north east road policing unit urged anyone with information to .

He said: 鈥淥ur thoughts are with the families and friends of the men who have died. Our officers will continue to support them as inquiries progress.

鈥淲e are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash to contact us.

"We also ask anyone with dash-cam footage and was in the area at the time to come forward.鈥
