Police plea after vet drugs stolen from clinic
- Published
Police have issued a warning after drugs used to euthanise animals were stolen from a veterinary practice.
Burglars forced entry to the Simply Cats Vet Clinic in Fence Houses, Sunderland, in the early hours of Monday and fled with a safe containing medications that they had removed from a wall.
Four bottles of ketamine and one bottle of methadone were taken along with a bottle of Somulose, which officers say is used to put down cats and horses.
They are urging drug users not to use any of the medication.
Det Sgt Michael Trainer, of Northumbria Police, said any items found should be disposed of in a safe manner and could be handed in at any police station.
