Train fire disrupts services for passengers
- Published
A fire on a train caused delays to services between Ashford and Maidstone in Kent.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service said it was called to Bearsted station in Ware Street at 14:41 BST on Tuesday.
Five fire engines and a bulk water carrier were initially sent, but later scaled down to two appliances.
Operator Southeastern said on Tuesday afternoon that no services were able to run from Ashford towards Maidstone East station because of the incident.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service said it believed the fire was caused by the train's brakes overheating and that there were no reported injuries.
