Met Police officer denies 1980s child sex offences

A Metropolitan Police officer has appeared in court charged with child sex offences dating back to the 1980s.

PC Anthony Rowley, of Southwark, denied 10 counts of indecent assault of a child, and four counts of indecency with a child, between 12 January 1988 and 11 January 1989.

The 51-year-old, who usually works in the force's South Area Command but is suspended from duty, appeared at Southwark Crown Court.

He is set to next appear at the same court on 18 May 2026 for trial.
