Three arrested in care centre investigation
Three staff members have been arrested over allegations of violence and wilful neglect at a Devon home, police have said.
Devon and Cornwall Police was contacted regarding concerns over the care of residents at the Knappe Cross Care Centre in Brixington Lane, Exmouth.
Officers started a criminal investigation regarding activity at the home and arrested three staff members, who have since been released on bail as inquiries continue.
Police said: "Robust safeguarding arrangements are now in place and the safety and ongoing care of residents remains the utmost priority."
Knappe Cross has 42 beds and opened in 1987.
Officers said they were working closely with Devon County Council Adult Safeguarding Services and the CQC to ensure inappropriate activity was dealt with and any lessons were learnt for the future.
The police added: "The safety and ongoing care of the residents remains the utmost priority consideration for all of the professional agencies involved."
