An 85-year-old man has died in a crash between van and a stationary vehicle, Sussex Police say.
Emergency services were called to the B2026 near the entrance to the King's Standing car park in Uckfield, East Sussex, at about 07:40 BST on Tuesday.
The force said the man was found at the scene and, despite the efforts of medical staff, was pronounced dead a short while later.
His next of kin have been informed, a police spokesperson said.
A road closure to allow emergency services to work at the scene has since lifted.
Anyone who saw what happened or who has footage is asked to contact police.
