Man charged after boy, 10, hurt in e-scooter crash

A man has been charged by police after a 10-year-old boy riding an e-scooter was hit by a car, leaving him with broken legs.

The child was struck at the junction of Sir Harrys Road and Pershore Road in Birmingham just after 18:00 BST on Sunday.

The boy faces months of rehabilitation, according to West Midlands Police.

The accused man, 45, is charged with failing to report a crash.

He has been released on bail to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court on 11 September.

The force has appealed for anyone with information to get in touch.
