Warning issued over RAF training flights
- Published
People have been warned about an increase in military aircrafts flying on night-time exercises.
RAF Spadeadam is carrying out operational training across Cumbria and Northumberland on Wednesday, from 18:00 BST to 02:00 BST.
A spokesman said it was "normal routine training", but warned flights may continue after the stated time.
Spadeadam, near Brampton, is the largest RAF station and the only Electronic Warfare Tactics facility in Europe, where crews practise manoeuvres against a variety of threats and targets.
The spokesman said: "This notification is made as the activity is outside the standard range training times.
"We thank you [residents] for your understanding and your continuing support whilst we deliver this essential operational training."
