People with disabilities or health conditions and those who are self-employed could get more council tax help.
Residents in west Devon have been asked what they think about plans to change council tax.
They will have six weeks to give their opinions about West Devon Borough Council's reduction scheme proposal.
The changes will see more than 455 residents or families get extra financial support.
'Best for communities'
The proposals will cost a total of 拢164,825. and the council's contribution will be 11%, or 拢18,131.
The rest will be met by the other organisations such as Devon County Council, the police, and fire and rescue.
The council's lead member for leisure, health and wellbeing, councillor Tony Leech, said it means people will be "part of an important conversation about what is best for communities".
He added: 鈥淭he changes we are proposing aim to support some of our more vulnerable residents so it鈥檚 important we hear what you have to say about our plans for next year鈥檚 scheme. Please make sure you have your say.鈥
People can take part in the consultation online until 28 November.
