People who want to be part of Guernsey's Parole Review Committee (PRC) are being sought.

The States of Guernsey said it is seeking two people to join the PRC, the independent body based at Sir Charles Frossard House in St Peter Port that reviews applications for prisoners to be released early.

The States said PRC members are required to read and consider "complex information" before making decisions in a structured way.

Applicants must have proven analytic and decision-making skills and should submit their CV and covering letter by 30 June, the States said.

Phil Taylor, PRC chairman, said the committee plays a "vital role" in the administration of justice on Guernsey.

"They must be prepared to be challenged on their views and be flexible in their approach - no two cases are similar," Mr Taylor said.

"Making these kinds of decisions is not easy, but it is challenging, intellectually stimulating and fulfilling."
